According to a report by Argentine media outlet ‘Tyc Sports’, Tevez is planning a star-studded farewell event at Boca Juniors’ iconic stadium, La Bombonera, next December.
Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme has already agreed to make the historic stadium available for the grand occasion. However, the final date has not yet been decided, as it will depend on the end of the Argentine league season and Boca Juniors’ own match schedule. For now, the weekends of December 12-13 and December 19-20 are being considered.
60 Guests to Be Invited
Around 60 players and notable personalities from the football world who have been associated with Tevez throughout his illustrious career are expected to receive invitations to the event. Under the proposed format, one team will be made up of Tevez’s footballing and neighborhood childhood friends, while the opposing side will feature former teammates from the various clubs he represented during his long playing career.
The Biggest Excitement and Curiosity
This is where the real excitement begins. Lionel Messi is reportedly among the guests Tevez personally wants to invite. And as a former Manchester United teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo could also be invited.
If both accept the invitation, it would create an incredible possibility of seeing them step onto the pitch together for the same team. A reunion between the two superstars who ruled world football for more than a decade would undoubtedly create an extraordinary and historic spectacle.
Tevez enjoyed an illustrious career with powerhouse clubs such as Boca Juniors, West Ham, Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus, while also shining for the Argentina national team. After making 279 appearances, scoring 94 goals and winning 11 major trophies throughout his career, he retired from professional football in June 2022.
After bidding farewell to his playing career, the Argentine moved into coaching, taking charge of teams such as Rosario Central, Independiente and Talleres Cordoba.
