According to a report by British newspaper The Sun, Ronaldo will serve as the executive producer of a new British drama series titled Day Ones. He is also expected to make a special on-screen appearance in the show.
A Story About a Football Agent
Day Ones follows the story of fictional football agent Stanley Dalton, played by acclaimed Hollywood actor Damian Lewis, best known for his performances in Homeland and Billions.
Filming for the series is already underway. Lewis was recently spotted shooting scenes at Barnet FC's stadium in northwest London.
Thierry Henry Also Joins the Project
The report also reveals that French football legend Thierry Henry will appear in the series alongside Ronaldo. The concept for Day Ones was inspired by an idea from Henry's real-life agent, Darren Dein.
A source close to the production said that several major streaming platforms are expected to compete for the rights to the series, thanks to its star-studded lineup and ambitious production.
Not Another Ted Lasso
According to the source, interest in British football has grown significantly—particularly in the United States—following the recent FIFA World Cup. Day Ones is being developed to capitalize on that momentum.
However, the series will be very different from the hit comedy Ted Lasso. Rather than focusing on humor, it is primarily a drama that explores the business of football, relationships, and power struggles, with only light comedic elements.
Ronaldo's New Studio
Day Ones is being produced by UR•Marv Studios, a production company launched earlier this year by Ronaldo and British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, the director behind Kingsman and Kick-Ass. Vaughn aims to reshape traditional filmmaking by creating innovative and original content.
Speaking at the studio's launch, Vaughn said:
"Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written. I'm excited to work with him on bringing inspiring stories to life."
Ronaldo also expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture, saying:
"This is an exciting new chapter in my life. I'm looking forward to exploring new opportunities beyond football."
From Football to Entertainment
Now 41 years old, Ronaldo currently captains Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. Throughout his remarkable career, he enjoyed two successful spells at Manchester United and established himself as one of football's greatest-ever players.
After conquering the football world, Ronaldo is now aiming to make his mark in the entertainment industry as both a producer and an actor.
The cast of Day Ones also includes British rapper Dave and rising actress Carlotta Banat. An official release date and streaming platform for the series have not yet been announced.
